Zahr El Laymoun is a Lebanese chain with branches from [Sharjah](https://9715.ae/sharjah/) to Muscat, but only this one has the [Dubai](https://9715.ae/dubai/) Fountain outside. It sits on Level 2 of Souq Al Bahar, near the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.

The menu sticks to the classics: the Shawarma Platter, the Zaatar Laban Platter, Shish Tawook and the Mixed Grill Platter. Regulars go for the zaatar labneh platter, the shish tawook and the mixed grill. The dish worth ordering beyond the grills is the Fattet Zahr El Laymoun: toasted bread, grilled eggplant and chickpeas under garlic yogurt, finished with pomegranate molasses. Dinner for two runs to about AED 250.

The real draw, though, is the setting. The outdoor seating looks straight onto the Dubai Fountain, which comes alive every 30 minutes from 6pm, and the terrace doubles as a shisha spot. You'll need to book for an outdoor table. Be warned though, it can get busy around show time as people crowd to get a peek of the fountain show.

If you have friends or family visiting and want to impress them, this is the spot: a front-row seat for the fountain with a plate of mixed grill in front of you.
