Maria Bonita has been cooking Mexican food on Umm Al Sheif Street since 2003, making it the longest-running Mexican restaurant in [Dubai](https://9715.ae/dubai/), and we've been coming back for over 12 years. It's in the Al Khaja Building, between [Jumeirah](https://9715.ae/dubai/area/jumeirah/) Beach Road and Al Wasl Road. Parking is a bit tight, so you might have to park across the street.

Through all that time, the warm room, the food and the hospitality haven't slipped. The tortillas are still made by hand, and La Tiendita, the little shop inside, sells Mexican groceries to take home, so browse it on your way out.

At the staff's recommendation, we started with the guacamole, made fresh at your table, with their salsa alongside and we're glad we did. The guacamole was fresh and full of flavor. From there, our picks are the Carne Asada Tacos with cheese, the tender Beef Rib Tacos and the Baja Tacos when we want something lighter, with a Jarritos to drink. Budget around AED 215 for two.

We've worked through much of the menu over the years. Come for a relaxed, no-fuss taco dinner near the beach, and order the guacamole before anything else.
