# Foul W Hummus

Foul W Hummus is modelled on Hashem, the famous hummus house in Amman, and its kitchen was staffed by people who used to work there, the main chef included. It opened in 2010, before Barsha became a place people drove to for dinner, and it still does exactly what its name says: fresh foul, hummus and falafel.

You'll find it on the ground floor of the Rose Garden Hotel Apartments in [Al Barsha](https://9715.ae/dubai/area/barsha/). It's table service, and staff pile the table with more bread than you can eat, so there's no need to order extra.

The menu is short and every item is done properly. The hummus comes topped with a sharp green sauce of green pepper, lemon juice and garlic. The one to order is galayet bandora: tomatoes salted until soft and juicy, hit with garlic, lemon and chilli, and sunk under good olive oil. Ask for saj bread, which is thin and floppy, and tear it off to scoop the tomatoes. Regulars order the falafel and dunk them into the foul and hummus; they're two for AED 1, and most of the dips sit around AED 18.

It's cosy and unpretentious, best with friends and plates to share. Parking nearby is hard to find, and it takes cash only, so bring notes and don't count on paying by card. A filling meal came to about AED 30 per person.

Go for a cheap, hearty Jordanian breakfast or lunch with friends who want to share everything on the table.
