Arabica is mostly a grab-and-go chain, but its Fashion Avenue branch in [Dubai](https://9715.ae/dubai/) Mall is built for staying. On the first floor next to the Apple store, it wraps a majlis-style ring of couches and small tables around an open-walled cafe, while the express counter downstairs handles the takeaway crowd.

The design is sleek and minimal, all white, with a long counter where you can watch the baristas work. Coffee is the point here, with single origins and house blends on the bar; food is a short run of sweet and savoury croissants and brownies.

We keep coming back for the Iced Latte, a classic, or the Spanish Latte if you have a sweet tooth, which is the real standout. It is built on the house Arabica blend, properly sweet, with strong aromatics and a rich body, and it is the chain's best seller across the Gulf. Expect to pay around AED 25 to 30 for one.

The catch is seating: the couches fill up at peak hours and on weekends, and prices sit at the premium end even for a mall. There was a line at the bar even on a weekday afternoon. Come on a weekday if you want a seat. If you care about both the coffee and where you drink it, this is the Arabica to pick in Dubai Mall.
